Queensland Museum licensed a Luen Warneke photograph of Frederick Peak for the second edition of this popular guide to Queensland’s geological and palaeontological history.
The image illustrates Devonian and Carboniferous volcanic activity along the eastern edge of the continent — Frederick Peak shot from near Allambie Lane, Kelso, with Ross River Dam in the backdrop (2016).
The redesigned 368-page Discovery Guide was published in July 2024 with refreshed photography and new fossil discoveries; it later received a 2025 Whitley Award for Palaeozoology.
